Officers meet with Polish community |
||||||||
Officers from the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team were delighted to join the local Polish community for a sports day. PCs Anne Lopez and Neil Duddy attended Holwell Primary School in Welwyn Garden City on Saturday (17 May). The building is home to a Polish Saturday School and the officers were invited to join their sports day. The officers cheered on as the children participated in a number of fun activities such as football, volleyball, fencing, Zumba and yoga. The police vehicle was also brought along and the children enjoyed climbing inside to explore. The officers demonstrated the siren and flashing lights. PC Lopez said: “We had a lovely day meeting everyone. Events like this are really important as they give us a chance to meet residents who might be new to our country. It means we can explain how UK policing works and give advice on how we can help. “We’d like to say a thank you to Michal Siewniak, the organiser, who invited us along and made us feel extremely welcome.” If you have a community event and would like to invite the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, please email welwynhatfield@herts.police.uk You can use our community voice platform ‘echo’ to let us know what you think we should be prioritising in your area.
